As parents of first grade 1B, you have an important job this year. 2016
You have many tasks to perform.
Write your child's name inside sweaters, jackets, book bags, and lunch bags. Otherwise, they become expensive lost and found giveaways.
Make sure your student gets a good night's sleep and a nutritious breakfast. Find out which brain food he likes to eat in the morning and plan to have a supply on hand. The increased brain activity he will exhibit in the morning makes all the difference.
Pack a small healthy snack for our 9:30 snack. There are 15 minutes available to eat, visit the bathroom and wash and clean up. Not much time if the snack bag is chock full of goodies.
Be sure there is a lunch in the bag or a lunch has been ordered. Lunch orders are by the month. Nothing can be bought on the day. Discuss the menu with your child and make sensible choices based on their opinion of the day's selections. Remember to mark down which days you will have to provide a lunch bag.
Always check the homework book for homework pages and notes from myself or the office. The folders are for their completed class work. It's easier this way..
Remember to admire and give positive words to their workpapers. They will quickly figure out that school is important to you and the work they do is a source of pride for you. This is a good thing.
