..JUNE 2014
How to spend the summer vacation.....
Put the cell phones in your pocket and have an enjoyable, face to face, eye contact, hand holding conversation with your wonderful child.
Visit any library...it's free! ...and it is air conditioned and open many hours most days and did I mention it is free? They have wonderful programs all year. You can borrow books with a library card and read at home. Think of all the wonderful things you will learn at the library.... and it is free!
Something else wonderful (but not free) is the Children's Museum or the Science Museum or the Museum of Fine Arts..check their websites for times and exhibits..
all are accessible by the T (which is usually not free)...and the library has free! passes if you sign up on time...
The City of Boston has many opportunities for fun within your neighborhoods. Go and see!
Take the T to the end of the line anywhere and get off and explore the area. Your child will learn more by doing this than by blasting aliens on the computer. He will learn how to read a schedule and a timetable and a map and be able to orient himself in this place we call home.
Take pictures of everywhere you go and make an album your child can use as a journal.
Every minute you spend with your child is a worthwhile memory and every worthwhile memory is a learning experience for all of you.
Have an enjoyable summer and learn something new every day!
